Mrs. Crawford's
Science Class

Lessons are presented in a way that engages students and challenges them to practice deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills in order to achieve a deeper understanding of science concepts, a broader set of applicable skills, and a driving inspiration to pursue curiosity and learn through exploration.

Laboratory Investigations

Students conduct laboratory activities in which they test claims, collect data, and share their findings with supportive evidence & reasoning.

(Pictured above, students are testing cereals with varying sugar content to observe & compare the effects of fermentation for each.)

Learning in Nature

Students are provided field trip opportunities in which they apply skills learned in the classroom to connect & engage with nature in ways that are relevant & impactful.

(Pictured above, a student and my colleague are working in the field to test the water quality of a local stream.)
